Being a vegetarian is more than doable, although you'll have to explain yourself at quite a few establishments. As for apartments, there are lots of options near there, depending on your budget and whether or not you will have roommates. Single bedrooms probably start at around 800-1000 RMB/Month and go up from there. 2 Bedrooms go from about 13-1400 and up. And if you're living here for that long, an apartment is a better deal than the dorms, anyways.

admin : i'm really happy to know that being vegetarian is not hard in tianjin , as i was living in cairo-egypt for that last 3 years , and there are no vegetarian restaurants here , so for the last 3 years i ate pizza , falafil and koshari(traditional rice with macaroni and lentils ) only , imagine eating 3 kinds of food over and over for 3 years

any way thanks for the advice , but as i wrote before , the university said and i'm quoting " the students will have to solve the lodging problems by themselves by renting house outside the campus , because the new dormitory building isn't completed yet ". so i'll be renting an apartment .

Well, it depends...

I'm in YouYuan, the single-room dormitory in TianDa...This is correct, doors are always open, and watchmans can sometimes close theirs eyes....

But at the other: LiuYuan, It's completly different. Doors are close at 10:00. I even heard about some funny "tricks" that students do when they are back after 10:00. Some of they let their windows open the night in order to "climb" inside the domitory!!...that's crazy ...
But say nothing. It's a secret!!...
